Jewish settlers set Palestinian barley yield on fire near Yatta town in Al-Khalil shortly after harvesting it, local sources said.
Ratib Al-Jabour, the coordinator of the popular committee in Yatta, told Quds Press that settlers from the Susiya settlement burnt the crops in Tawamin area.
He said that the yield is owned by Yousef Al-Shaanin and was reaped with the help of his friends.
Local and international reports have pointed to escalation in the settlers’ attacks on Palestinian citizens in various Wet Bank areas.
Change and Reform bloc: the storming of the Aqsa Mosque sets off alarm bells
The Change and Reform bloc held the occupation fully responsible for allowing and protecting Zionist settlers during storming Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The bloc said in a statement, on Sunday, that the Zionist occupation continues committing crimes against the Palestinian people, lands, and holy places. Zionist settles stormed today Al-Aqsa's courtyards in Jerusalem under IOF protection as an attempt to strengthen what they claimed to be the status of the temple. These repeated Jewish attacks on the Aqsa Mosque reveal the malicious intents to demolish it to establish an alleged temple on its ruins, the statement stated.
It added that the continuing settlers’ attacks on Al-Aqsa mosque set off alarm bells for Zionist Plots against Masjid Al-Aqsa.
Change and Reform bloc confirmed that Al-Aqsa was always the Palestinian revolutions' direction and the starting point of the uprisings. It also affirmed that the next battle after the prisoners' battle would be the Aqsa battle, calling on all Palestinian people to unite around Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa to put an end to the Zionist plot which aims to Judaize Jerusalem, exile its people, and to desecrate its holy places and Al-Aqsa.
The bloc urged the Arab and Muslim nation all over the world to rise and revolt for occupied Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque, the first qibla and the third holiest site in Islam, and to move to confront the Jewish extremists’ attempts to harm the holy Mosque, asking to make the Arab spring to Aqsa spring. We are confident that these repeated settlers’ attacks on the Aqsa Mosque accelerate their departure from our lands, God willing, it added.
IOF soldiers close entrance to Beit Ummar to protect settlers’ march
Armored vehicles of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) started on Sunday closing entrances to Beit Ummar village to the north of Al-Khalil to protect a yearly settlers’ march.
Quds Press quoted Mohammed Awad, the coordinator of Beit Ummar popular committee, as saying that the IOF troops escorted a huge tractor that placed cement blocks and sand barriers on all entrances to the village.
He said that the Jewish settlers march from Kiryat Arba settlement in Al-Khalil to occupied Jerusalem passing near the village.
He said that the soldiers ordered all shop owners on Al-Khalil-Jerusalem road to close their businesses during the march, the date of which was not yet fixed.
Awad recalled that the IOF command had closed the central vegetables and fruit market running parallel to that road over six months ago without giving reasons.
IOF troops retain permanent presence on the main entrance to Beit Ummar in a military watchtower other than the presence of an iron gate that control that entrance.
Jewish settlers start to defile Aqsa Mosque Sunday morning
Dozens of Jewish settlers started Sunday morning to flock into the courtyards of the Aqsa Mosque at the invitation of the right-wing Likud party to celebrate the occupation of east Jerusalem.
According to the Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage, a group of about 25 settlers desecrated this morning the Aqsa Mosque and walked in its courtyards amid expectations that seven extremist Knesset members will also defile the sanctity of the Islamic holy Mosque.
These Jewish break-ins at the Aqsa Mosque are carried out under tight military and security protection, and amid restrictions imposed on all Muslim worshipers and citizens in the holy city.
A large numbers of Israeli soldiers and policemen are seen deployed throughout the holy city and around the Aqsa Mosque.
The preparatory committee of the popular conference on Jerusalem urged all Palestinians who have access to the holy city to be present in the morning at the Aqsa Mosque to thwart any Israeli attempt to violate its sanctity.
Knesset members from the Likud had declared recently their intention to break into the Aqsa Mosque on this day to call for building the alleged temple on the ruins of the Aqsa Mosque.
For his part, head of the higher council of Islamic courts in Palestine Sheikh Yousuf Adeis called on the Palestinian people to beware of the Jewish schemes against the Aqsa Mosque and to be present all day and night inside it to protect it.
Sheikh Adeis urged the Arab League, the organization of Islamic cooperation and the international community to immediately move to protect the Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinians against the settlers' violations.
He stressed the city of Jerusalem is an Arab Islamic city and the Aqsa Mosque, with all its premises, gates and walls including the Buraq wall, belongs only to Muslims.
