Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, has erected a huge poster of Israeli captive soldier Shaul Aaron at al-Saraya junction in Gaza.
Aaron appears in the poster wearing a brown prison uniform, with remarks in Arabic and Hebrew saying, “As long as our heroes do not see freedom and daylight, this prisoner will never see freedom.”
On the left side of the picture, there is an army dog tag containing the name of the soldier and his serial number.
Another picture for Aaron posted by al-Qassam Brigades on social media says, “Where am I; what is my fate?

An ultra right-wing Israeli minister verbally harassed Palestinians from Gaza as they traveled on a bus, to visit their imprisoned relatives in southern Israel’s Nafha prison, hurling abuse at women on the bus calling their sons “dogs.”
MK Oren Hazan of the right-wing Likud party, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s party, intercepted and boarded a bus of Palestinian families traveling to Nafha prison on Monday, according to Ma’an. As he confronted the Palestinian families, he turned to the mother of an imprisoned Palestinian and asked, “Who did you come to visit? What did your son do?” to which she replied “He did not do anything.” Hazan responded to the mother by saying “Your son is a dog. He’s a |
dog. You come to visit the scum who are sitting here in prison, whom you see as your family members.”
As the woman attempted to respond to Hazan’s abuse, he shouted over her saying, “I will make sure you can not visit here any more and we’ll do everything so you will not get in. You are not welcome here, you have to understand well, you raised your son to murder.”
Hazan was with a group of other right-wing Israelis who are part of the so-called Task Force for the Release of Prisoners and Missing Persons.
The group has vowed to continue intercepting buses and attacking Palestinian families as long as Hamas continues holding Israeli soldiers in Gaza.
During his attack on the families, he said, “I want to tell you all, your friends in Gaza are holding our brothers, Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul and Avera Mengistu, and if you do not bring this message home that we want to get our children back you will not come here anymore. If you continue here you will not see them alive.”
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which organizes the weekly trips for families of Palestinian prisoners from Gaza, responded to the incident, saying “the prisoners’ families were entitled to visit their children with dignity.”
According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are currently 6,198 Palestinians detained by Israel as of October. The group has estimated that some 40 percent of Palestinian men will be detained by Israel at some point in their lives.

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested three members of an alleged Hamas resistance cell in Tel town near Nablus city. The detainees were suspected of planning to kidnap an Israeli settler, the Israeli Shin Bet announced on Wednesday.
Hebrew sources claimed that the leader of the cell was Muath Eshtaiyah, 26 from Tel, and that he planned the attempt with his cousins Mahmoud and Ahmad Ramadan, both 19 and also from Tel.
According to the Shin Bet, the three men planned to kidnap a soldier or a settler from one of the bus stations at a central junction in the northern West Bank. The plan was to dress up like Jewish settlers and to abduct the settler using a car.
The Shin Bet also said that the kidnapping was planned to take place mid or late December.
Hebrew sources alleged that Eshtaiyah purchased a pistol, pepper spray and a stun gun in preparation for the abduction.
The Shin Bet also claimed that the planned resistance operation was funded by Omar Assida, a Hamas member deported to Gaza Strip after being released from Israeli jails within Wafaa al-Ahrar prisoner swap deal in 2011.

A cartoon video about Hadar Goldin, the Israeli officer who is held captive by al-Qassam Brigades in Gaza Strip, has become viral after being widely spread by Palestinian activists over the social media.
The short cartoon film shows Goldin in a dungeon holding a book in his hands while listening to a Jewish famous song called “My Dear Mother”.
The video conveys a symbolic message by demonstrating the Israeli captive in a nostalgic status while feeling the hope for being released in a future swap deal between Hamas Movement and Israeli occupation authorities.
The video was published after a campaign that was launched by the family of captive Goldin in which his brother asked the Israeli government not to meet the demands of Hamas Movement.
The cartoon video shows that the Israeli family has to choose whether to have their son released or to close his file as the case of Ron Arad, the Israeli pilot who was captured in Lebanon in 1986 and his whereabouts were never known since then.

Longest-serving Palestinian prisoner Nael Barghouti has called on the international community to assume its responsibility vis-à-vis Palestinian ex-detainees re-sent to Israeli jails.
In statements quoted by the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS), Barghouti said several Palestinian prisoners released as part of the Wafa al-Ahrar (Gilad Shalit) prisoner swap and re-arrested later by the Israeli occupation forces have been sent again to Israeli jails.
PPS urged the international community to immediately intervene to release 63 Palestinians detainees re-arrested by the Israeli forces following a political decision and re-sentenced to previous prison-terms.
PPS slammed the silence maintained by the international community as regards the ex-prisoners’ cause, saying such an apathetic stance rather blocks all chances to strike a prisoner exchange deal with the Israeli occupation.
Barghouti, a native of Ramallah’s northern town of Kober, has spent 34 years out of a 37-year prison-term. He was released following the Wafa al-Ahrar swap and re-detained in 2014. In early 2017, the occupation authorities ruled that he be subjected to the previous term: life-sentence and 18 years in jail.
At the same time, PPS raised alarm bells over the deteriorating health condition of 74-year-old Palestinian detainee Youssef Abu al-Kheir, held in Gilboa lock-up.
PPS said Abu al-Kheir has been enduring life-threatening cardiovascular disorders and has gone through several strokes. Prior to his detention, he underwent a heart surgery.
Abu al-Kheir was re-arrested by the Israeli occupation forces in May 2017 on his way back home from Greece. In 1969 he was arrested and sentenced to life in Israeli prisons, before he was released in the 1985 swap deal and deported to Libya. Sometime later he moved to Greece. An Israeli court ruled for resuming his previous sentence after it rebuffed the detainee’s appeals for a fair trial.

Human rights groups have condemned an Israeli decision to withhold bodies of five Palestinians who were killed in an Israeli attack on a tunnel dug under the Gaza-Israel border, last week.
Israeli authorities announced, on Sunday, that the army had uncovered the bodies of the five men – identified by Islamic Jihad as Alaa Abu Ghorab, Shadi al-Hamri, Bader Musabah, Ahmad al-Sabakhi and Mohammad al-Buhaisi – who were missing since last week, when Israel blew up a tunnel on the Gaza-Israel border, killing 12 Palestinians.
Initially, the five were believed to still be alive. However, rescue teams in Gaza were prevented by the Israeli army from carrying out a search campaign until advances were made for the return of missing Israelis held by Hamas – most notably Israeli soldiers Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul, who are believed to have been killed during Israel’s offensive on the besieged enclave in 2014.
After Islamic Jihad declared that the missing five were dead, Israel discovered their bodies and announced that their remains would be withheld from the families.
Rights groups Adalah and the Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights released a joint statement on Sunday night, saying that the families of the Islamic Jihad members still “maintain their right to demand the return of the bodies of their relatives for burial”.
Israel’s policy of holding bodies “contradicts the principles of international law,” the groups stated. “Bodies of individuals who are killed during situations of conflict must be returned to their families for burial with dignity”.
‘Collective punishment’
According to Palestinian human rights group al-Haq, Israel has held more than 161 slain Palestinians from their families since 2015, nine of whom continue to be held. After the confiscation of the remains of the Islamic Jihad members, this number has increased to 14.
In addition, hundreds of Palestinians are believed to be buried in Israel’s “cemetery of numbers” – graves in Israel marked only by numbers.
In September four bodies held by Israel were buried there, despite an ongoing appeal in the Israeli Supreme Court demanding that Israel release the bodies.
Israel withholds the bodies of slain Palestinians in order to use as bargaining chips in future negotiations with Palestinian leaders.
Jonathan Conricus, the Lieutenant Colonel of the Israeli army, told Al Jazeera that despite Israel being “prepared” for a conflict, “we do not aspire to escalate the situation. We want to preserve stability for the Israeli population and for those in Gaza”.
Conricus added that there was “no direct relationship” between holding the bodies of the slain Islamic Jihad members and the army’s purported aim of preserving peace.
However, senior Islamic Jihad member Ahmed al-Mudallal feels differently, telling Al Jazeera that the group is “considering its options” against Israel. “We will not accept Israel’s blackmail”, he said, and vowed to use any means necessary to ensure the return of the bodies.
He added that Israel “would not be holding the bodies for long”.
“Israel fully understands the importance of burial rituals in Palestinian societies, whether it be for Christians or Muslims,” Dawoud Yusef, advocacy coordinator for prisoners’ rights group Addameer, told Al Jazeera.
Israel’s policy of holding slain Palestinian bodies “seeks to punish the families of those engaged in any resistance activities,” he said. “It doesn’t matter what these people were doing, the families still have the right to give them a burial”.
He added that the group considers Israel’s policy a form of “collective punishment” and a serious violation of international law.

The 19-year-old son of the Palestinian prisoner Rajab al-Tahan, Majd, died on Tuesday evening after a battle with cancer.
Rajab al-Tahan announced on 15th October that he will start a hunger strike in Israeli jails after the efforts made by many human rights institutions to convince the Israeli occupation authorities to allow him to visit his son had failed.
On 26th October, the Israeli court decided to delay its response to a petition filed by the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission to allow Tahan to see his sick son at the hospital.
Tahan was able to visit his dying son late October at Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem after the Beersheba District Court accepted the request submitted by his family and the Prisoners Commission.
Rajab al-Tahan, 49, is a resident of Silwan town in Occupied Jerusalem. He was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment in 1998. After serving 13 years in Israeli jails, he was released in the 2011 Wafa al-Ahrar deal. Tahan was re-arrested in 2014 and he is currently serving the remaining term of his previous life sentence in Israeli jails.

Israeli military court of Ofer issued a 6-month-term administrative detention order against the Palestinian journalist and activist Bushra al-Tawil, 25 from al-Bireh city, who is held captive in Israeli jails with no charge or trial.
The court relied on the so-called “Secret File” in trialing prisoner Tawil. It was submitted by the Israeli military prosecution to the court's judge without allowing the captive or her lawyer to read the file.
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested detainee Tawil on November the first after storming the home of her father, the Hamas leader in Ramallah Jamal al-Tawil. She was previously arrested twice by the IOF and was released within Wafaa al-Ahrar prisoner swap deal.

Israeli soldier Hadar Goldin’s family announced on Sunday that they plan to file a petition with the High Court of Justice to compel the Israeli government to enforce its decisions regarding the Israeli soldiers captured by Hamas Movement.
Israeli premier Benjamin “Netanyahu and the government are not doing all they can and are not using all of the abilities of the state in order to return Hadar Goldin,” the family said.
Last April, the Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s armed wing, declared for the first time that it had captured four Israeli soldiers, without giving any further details.

Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, on Sunday described Israel's holding of Palestinian martyrs' bodies as a "desperate attempt to impose new rules on the Palestinian resistance movements".
Hamas's spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a statement that the Palestinian resistance will spare no means to fight the occupation and defend the Palestinian people.
Hebrew media sources reported on Sunday that the Israeli army is holding the bodies of five Islamic Jihad martyrs who were killed in the army's bombing of a resistance tunnel east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Barhoum stressed that the resistance that was able to liberate "its heroes" from the Israeli jails in the Wafa al-Ahrar deal is also capable of recovering the bodies of these martyrs.
Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, has announced earlier that the bodies of five of its militants are still missing after five days of continuous search operations.
The Israeli army has rejected repeated requests by the Red Cross organization to allow rescue teams to search for the bodies beyond the borderline between Gaza and the 1948 occupied Palestine.

Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mahmoud al-Zahhar has affirmed that his Movement categorically rejects providing Israel with information about its captive soldiers in Gaza in exchange for allowing the Palestinian side to search for missing citizens inside a border tunnel, which was destroyed by the Israeli army a few days ago.
In press remarks to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) on Thursday, Zahhar stressed that any information to be provided about Israel’s captive soldiers in Gaza would be only in return for the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.
The Hamas official described Israel’s condition as “despicable extortion.”
“If the occupation officials want to consider such blackmail a kind of a deal, we tell them that every inch of this land contains a martyr, so nothing would change if they were buried in Gaza or within the borders of the 1948 occupied lands because all these places are our land,” he underlined.

The General Director of the Internal Security Forces in Gaza, survived an assassination attempt, Friday, with mild wounds, after an explosive device, which was apparently embedded in his car, detonated as he opened its door.
Security sources in Gaza said Lieutenant Tawfiq Abu Na’im, survived the explosion which targeted him after Friday noon prayers, at a local mosque in the Nusseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza. The blast also mildly injured a few other Palestinians.
He was rushed to the Shifa hospital, in Gaza, after suffering minor injuries, and is expected to be released the same day.
Following the blast, Palestinian police and security officers rushed to the scene, and initiated an investigation into the incident.
It is worth mentioning that Na’im was a former political prisoner, held by Israel, and was released in 2011, as part of the Shalit Swap agreement.
Ismail Haniyya, the head of Hamas Political Bureau, visited the wounded Lieutenant, and held Israel, and its collaborators, responsible for the assassination attempt.
Haniyya added that Israel is trying to sabotage the reconciliation between Hamas and Fateh movements, and called on all factions, and President Mahmoud Abbas, to speed up all measures aiming at implementing all sections of the unity agreement, to enable a strong and united internal front.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Saturday his decision to appoint Yaron Bloom as the new coordinator for negotiating the return of Israeli soldiers held captive by Hamas resistance movement in Gaza.
Netanyahu spoke with the families of the captive soldiers Hisham al-Sayed, Abera Mengistu, Oron Shaul, and Hadar Goldin, and updated them of the appointment, before he emphasized his commitment to the return of their sons home.
Bloom served for many years in the Shin Bet security service and during his last years in the Shin Bet was a member of the small team that conducted the negotiations and brought about the release of the Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.
Bloom holds a BA in Political Science and an MA in International Relations. He is a Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Terrorism of the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, serves as an adviser on security and terrorism and serves on the board of directors in several companies.
"I thank the prime minister for his trust," said Bloom following the announcement of his appointment. "I see this role he has given me as a national mission of the highest order."
Last August, former coordinator Yair Lotan announced he was resigning from his post. After performing the job for the past few years, Lotan stated upon his resignation that he feels very disappointed after Israel’s political leadership turned their back on his initiatives to retrieve the missing and captive soldiers.
Hamas Movement, meanwhile, demands Israel to free the Palestinian ex-prisoners who were released in the Wafa al-Ahrar prisoner swap deal but were rearrested by the Israeli forces afterwards as a precondition for any negotiations on a new swap deal.
