Haaretz newspaper reported that the Israeli police released the Israeli soldier who killed the Palestinian man Iyad Hamed, 38, in Silwad town near Ramallah last Friday.
The Hebrew newspaper revealed that Israeli police charged the killer on suspicion of manslaughter then accused him with murder due to negligence.
Later on, he was released and sent back to work at Israeli forces again.
Hamed was killed by Israeli soldiers near the western entrance of Silwad town after an alleged attempt to carry out an anti-occupation attack. Palestinian sources affirmed that he was not armed and refuted Israeli allegations.
He was suffering from a mental disorder, the sources said. The martyr’s family threatened to avenge their son while hundreds of Palestinians participated in the funeral of Hamed last Friday.

The soldier who shot a Palestinian man who ran toward him and failed to respond when called upon to stop was questioned Sunday for negligent manslaughter; investigators look into Palestinian claim that man was unarmed and shot in his back; soldier claims he sensed a clear danger when he refused to stop.
An IDF soldier who shot dead Eyad Zakaria Hamed, a 38-year-old Palestinian, at the entrance to Silwad, adjacent to Ofra, in the West Bank (between Jerusalem and Nablus) on Friday is being questioned for negligent manslaughter.
The soldier, from the Netzah Yehuda Battalion within the Kfir Brigade was investigated by the military Criminal Investigation Division (CID) over the claim that the Palestinian was unarmed and shot in his back.
The CID is seeking to speak to Palestinian witnesses present during the incident while also compiling testimony from the soldiers present.
The Palestinian man’s body was returned to the Palestinian Authority shortly after the incident since the IDF said that the initial investigation did not indicate that the man was a terrorist.
In a statement by the soldier’s defense attorney, the soldier was said to have acted in a manner expected of him given the circumstances. “The soldier carried out what was demanded of him and acted in accordance with military instructions in light of the behavior of the Palestinian that aroused his suspicion and the risk he appeared to be posing,” the statement said. “The experienced and appreciated soldier will return to meaningful service today.”
During initial questioning, the soldier said he had called upon Hamed to stop but was forced to implement the procedures for opening fire when he the situation turned life-threatening.

Local sources in Silwad said hundreds of Palestinians participated in the funeral of Eyad Hamed, who was killed by the soldiers at noon, at the western entrance of the town, after the army initially claimed “he attempted to attack the soldiers,” and later retracted his false allegations.
The sources added that the soldiers fired rubber-coated steel bullets, sponge-tipped bullets and gas bombs at dozens of Palestinians, and cars, participating in the funeral procession, five Palestinians were injured and many cars were damaged.

The Israeli army initially alleged that the Palestinian opened fire at a military post, near Ofra illegal colony, before the soldiers shot him, but later retracted its false allegation, and confirmed the man was unarmed.
The military said the main was unarmed, and that it initiated an investigation into his fatal shooting.
Eyewitnesses said the soldiers shot Eyad Zakariyya Hamed, 38, and prevented Red Crescent medics from even approaching him to provide him with the urgently needed aid.
The Palestinian died from his wounds before the soldiers placed him in a black bag, and took his corpse away.
The WAFA Palestinian News Agency said Hamed was with special needs, and was a married father of two children, identified as Zakariyya, 9, and Liyan, 2.
One of the soldiers claimed he suspected that Hamed was armed, but after killing him, it became clear the Palestinian was unarmed, and never posed a threat to the soldiers, or anybody else.
Eyewitnesses said Hamed did not carry a knife, or any sort of weapon, and was just walking near the western entrance of the town, on his way to a local mosque for noon prayers.
They added that the soldiers, stationed behind concrete blocks, sand hills and military towers, shot Hamed with two live rounds in the chest and the shoulders, and left him bleeding from 11:30 until 12:30.
The death of Hamed brings the number of Palestinians who were killed by Israeli fire since the beginning of this year to 91, while the number of Palestinians killed since October 1st 2015 is 336, including 68 who were killed at military roadblocks, five of them were shot dead at the military roadblock at the western entrance of Silwad.
Hours after shooting Hamed, the soldiers transferred Hamed’s body to his family, at the al-Jeeb roadblock, northwest of occupied Jerusalem.
On December 25th 2015, the soldiers shot and killed a mother of four children, identified as Mahdiyya Hammad, while driving back home after visiting with her brother and his family.
The woman, who suffered hearing and vision disabilities, was shot dead after the soldiers claimed he tried to ram them with her car, but eyewitnesses confirmed she never posed any danger.
