The mother of the Palestinian leader prisoner Hassan Salama asked the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to release her son along with the Palestinian detainees for a swap deal with the Israeli soldiers held captive in Gaza.
In aletter addressed to Netanyahu, the mother stressed that no Israeli soldiers will be released unless Hassan, who is one of the most prominent leaders of al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas Movement, is released from Israeli jails.
She also addressed the mother of the Israeli soldier Shaul Sharon who is detained by al-Qassam Brigades, and who addressed a letter to the Hamas leader in Gaza Yahya al-Sinwar, saying that: "You have been waiting for seeing your son for 4 years, but I have been waiting for seeing my son for 24 years now".

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin pledged, on Wednesday, that the Gaza Strip will not be rebuilt so long as Hamas governs the besieged enclave.
“Israel was and has remained the only actor in the region that conveys basic staples for the welfare of the residents of Gaza,” the Times of Israel reported Rivlin saying at a ceremony in honour of Israeli soldiers killed during Israel’s 2014 assault on the Gaza Strip.
He also said, according to Days of Palestine: “As long as Hamas administers Gaza with an eye only to destroying the state of Israel and attacking its citizens, and continues to hold the bodies of our soldiers, Gaza will not be rehabilitated.”
On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened Hamas would pay an “unbearable price” if it did not choose to accept a truce with Israel.
Hamas was freely elected in the last general Palestinian elections held in 2006. Israel has since imposed a stifling blockade on the Gaza Strip limiting the entry of medicines, construction supplies and food.

Germany is reportedly mediating between Israel and the Gaza ruling movement, Hamas, for a prisoner exchange deal, according to a report by Al Hayat daily.
According to the report, based on Western sources, Germany initiated contact with both sides and emphasized that Israel and Hamas consider Germany a fair entity that can assist in talks, such as when Israel accepted Germany’s proposal to secure the release of captive Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit in 2011.
Germany began negotiations with Israel and Hamas three years ago, the report said, according to the PNN.
Additionally, two German envoys were said to have visited Gaza several times, in secret, and met with senior Hamas officials who were in charge of negotiations. Mediation took place through two channels, the report said: between German representatives of Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and with a third mediator located in Berlin.
While Israel holds over 7,000 Palestinians as prisoners, including children, Hamas holds two Israelis as detainees after they crossed the border into the Gaza Strip. Israel claims that Hamas also holds bodies of soldiers Staff Sgt. Oron Shaul and Lieutenant Hadar Goldin, who were killed during the Israeli war on Gaza in 2014.
In the same war, over 2,000 Gazans, mostly civilians, were also killed.

Palestinian ex-detainee Randa al-Shahatit was transferred to Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem while in a critical condition. Doctors have not yet determined the reason behind the collapse in her immune system.
Al-Shahatit's husband Ibrahim Abu Sabha told the PIC reporter that his wife was in her seventh month of pregnancy when she started to feel tired and exhausted all the time. Randa was taken to a local clinic where she was asked to rest.
"We took the doctor's advice into consideration but it developed into too much sleep and inability to move," Abu Sabha added. Randa was later transferred to Alia government hospital.
Abu Sabha explained, "Since she was admitted to Alia Hospital, we had repeatedly tried to transfer her to Hadassah Hospital but the Israeli authorities refused."
The Israeli authorities allowed her transfer later at the request of officials from the Palestinian Authority. According to Abu Sabha, medical staff at Hadassah Hospital confirmed that the fetus was still alive despite the mother's bad health condition.
A few hours after Randa was taken to Hadassah Hospital on 28th June, the family were informed that the fetus had died. After the fetus was delivered, Randa's health became worse, and she has been held at the intensive care unit ever since.
Abu Sabha affirmed that his wife is a mother of three children and she has never suffered from the possible symptoms mentioned in the hospital reports. He has doubts that his wife was poisoned while in Israeli jails.
He called on human rights organizations and all those concerned to help his wife travel abroad and undergo the necessary tests that would unveil the reasons behind the weird deterioration in her health.
Randa al-Shahatit was arrested several times by the Israeli occupation forces and spent about six years and a half in Israeli jails before she was released in the 2011 Wafa al-Ahrar prisoner swap deal. Al-Shahatit was accused of being involved in anti-Israel attacks.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly threatened the Hamas movement of paying an intolerable price if it does not settle for Israeli peace terms.
The Israeli occupation government held an official ceremony marking four years since its offensive against Gaza in 2014.
Jpost quoted Netanyahu as saying that he advises Gaza leaders to choose truce, or to pay an intolerable price, according to Al Ray.
He added that Israel saves no efforts in order to return their soldiers from Gaza, noting that its better to work in secret.
Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced on 20 July, 2014, the arrest of an Israeli soldier named Shaul Arun, during an operation east of the Shuja’eyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, during the ground offensive; however, the Israeli army announced his death.
Earlier, in August of the same year, the Israeli army announced the loss of connection with soldier Hadar Golden, in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, whereas Qassam Brigades announced that it had lost contact with the group that captured him.
Hamas demanded the release of ex-detainees who were re-detained after being released, as a part of the Shalit deal.
Israeli occupation forces re-detained more than 50 people who were released in 2011, in a deal which saw the freedom of thousand prisoners carrying high sentences, in return for the release of soldier Gilad Shalit, who was captured on the border of the Gaza Strip, in the summer of 2006, and remained in the custody of the resistance movement for five years.
On Tuesday, the family of soldier Hamar Goldin skipped the official memorial service for soldiers killed in Operation Protective Edge, in 2014.

Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said, on Tuesday, that the steadfast Palestinian position and their adherence to their national constants, as well as the Arab position rejecting bypassing the issue of Jerusalem and Arab legitimacy, have aborted the so-called “deal of the century” because it was originally based on the idea of a deal for Gaza deal to turning the Palestinian cause into a humanitarian issue.
Abu Rudeineh said, in a statement, that the United States “administration, and due to the complicity of some suspicious and conspiratorial parties with it, thought that by removing the issue of Jerusalem and refugees and canceling the nuclear agreement with Iran would pave the way for the Gaza deal, which is rejected by Palestinians, Arabs and the international community, the latest were statements by the Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov who said that Washington is incapable of resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on its own.”
Abu Rudeineh pointed out that this is what President Abbas is demanding, which is to have an international mechanism for the solution and not a unilateral American control that would perpetuate the Israeli occupation.
He said that “what is being proposed in ideas and illusions through the so-called deal of the century or the Gaza deal aim primarily at the abolition of the Palestinian national identity and the killing of the national project embodied in the establishment of our independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and not as what came in American statements that talk about progress in the peace process.”
The official presidential spokesman warned against using Gaza’s political or humanitarian relief, while some try to deal with these ideas which are mentioned by Israeli officials, whether regarding building a seaport or other things, without being part of a comprehensive political solution based on international resolutions, in order to co-existence with the occupation and ignore the explosive reality.
He stressed, according to WAFA, that “these suspicious proposals, which try to harm the national project and the Palestinian national identity, require courageous national positions to preserve Jerusalem, the identity and the land, not through contacts or messages that give up our right to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

Plans for a Gaza seaport in Cyprus, policed by Israel, were discussed as Defense Minister for Israel, Avigdor Lieberman, met with his Cypriot and Greek counterparts, on Friday.
The offer is conditional upon Hamas’ release of Israeli prisoners and remains of Israeli soldiers, with no mention of the 6036 Palestinian political prisoners or 310 Gazans alone that Israel currently holds.
The plan, according to the PNN, would supposedly help part of a US-led plan to ‘improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza’ with aid from the port.
This aid is also conditional on Hamas’ acceptance of America’s demands for the ‘peace deal’.
Leading Fateh members have already condemned the US “peace plan” as a ploy to create division between Gaza and the West Bank.
Many see Lieberman’s latest offer of a seaport as yet another political tool, and Israeli officials have been quite transparent about their motives.
In an interview on Monday, a senior security official revealed that “The moment that all the details are settled and everything is locked and loaded, we will directly turn to the public in Gaza, going above the head of Hamas, and we will put the benefits package on the table in the open and tell them—this is possible, this is the price. Take it or leave it.” It is clear that the deal is an attempt to undermine Hamas’ support.
There is certainly mistrust of the integrity of Lieberman’s supposed concern for the humanitarian situation in Gaza. After the massacre of 30 Gazans in April, by Israeli forces, he stated that “there are no innocent people in Gaza,” and he has previously boasted of the lengths he would go to to defeat Gaza, saying, “If a quarter of the [Gaza] Strip is needed, then we occupy a quarter of the Strip. If more, then more,” and claiming that the next war with Gaza will be the ‘last’.
The talks also coincide with joint Cyprus-Israel-Greece plans to work together for “security” in the Mediterranean, against illegal immigration and what Leiberman calls “rogue states”.
Israel and Cyprus are also keen to explore newly found gas reserves off their coasts.
Many are also suspicious of the Trump administration’s claims of concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Earlier this year, the US cut the budget for the UNRWA, leading NGO supporting Palestinian refugees, by fifty percent, as well as aid to the PA. In a tweet, Trump justified this, saying “We pay the Palestinians HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect… but with the Palestinians no longer willing to talk peace, why should we make any of these massive future payments to them?”

According to al-Akhbar Lebanese News Agency, the Hamas movement in Gaza has informed Egypt that it is willing to reach an indirect deal with Tel Aviv, which includes restoring calm, providing information about Israeli soldiers missing or killed in Gaza since the war in 2014, and other important issues, especially the siege and the economic conditions in the coastal region.
Israel is weighing the options for a large-scale invasion into Gaza.
Among the issues Hamas is asking for in return for calm is rebuilding the Airport, and establishing a Seaport in the coastal region. The two issues were part of the 2014 Ceasefire agreement, mediate by Egypt between Hamas and Israel.
It said that Cairo did not grant any promises regarding easing the restrictions on Rafah Border Crossing between Gaza and Egypt, but promised to hold talks with various Arab countries, including the United Arab Emirates, to begin implementing humanitarian projects to help the Palestinians in the besieged and improvised Gaza Strip.
It also said that the main point of discontent was reportedly Egypt’s dissatisfaction with the recent significant improvement in the relations between Hamas and the leadership in Iran, especially since the protest in Gaza, on the last week of Ramadan, carried the name of “International Jerusalem Day” which was held in Tehran.
According to the report, Egypt believes that Tehran is funding the “Great Return March” protests in Gaza, an issue that is coherent with allegations made by the Israeli government.
Nevertheless, Egypt promised to significantly improve the economic condition in Gaza, and to ease the suffering of the Palestinians in the coastal region, while Hamas still believes that Cairo has not provided any comprehensive vision, especially regarding ending the sanctions imposed on Gaza by the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, the Israeli siege, in addition to the resolving the electricity crises in Gaza, and other important files.
The report also stated that Egypt’s proposals were coherent with recommendation presented by the United Nations, but some of the main issues are the position of the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, which believes easing the restrictions on Gaza would give Hamas the impression that it can establish its “own state in the coastal region, instead of working to achieve a comprehensive Palestinian unity.”
The other pressing issue right now is Israel’s refusal to ease the sanctions and deadly blockade on Gaza, unless there is something thing in return, including information about the missing soldiers.
Furthermore, Israel’s political and military leaderships are weighing a comprehensive invasion and war against the Gaza Strip, to stop the protests, especially “the launching of burning kites from Gaza into Israeli settlements near the coastal region.”
Eyal Eizenberg, the former head of the Israeli Army’s Home Front Command, criticized the army for “not dealing with this issue effectively.”
He said that Israel should not be worried about entering a new war, and a ground invasion into the Gaza Strip, and added that “if Hamas continues the escalation, it will find the Israeli army operating in the heart of Gaza.”
The former army leader added that summer time is the best opportunity for Israel to wage a war on Gaza, and end all protests.
On his part, Israeli Interior Security Minster Gilad Erdan said that Israel has a big opportunity to launch a massive military invasion into Gaza in the coming months and added that “Hamas does not seem to understand how close Israel is to waging this war, especially after it fired 45 shells into Israeli communities across the border fence, in addition to the fires caused by incendiary kites.”
Israeli Channel Two said the army is preparing for this possibility, and is also deploying more Iron Dome systems, to intercept shells fired from Gaza, amidst increasing possibilities of a serious escalation.
However, the Israeli army said there has been a significant decrease in the number of burning kites flown from Gaza into fields and settlements across the border fence with Gaza.
Israeli reports said at least 20.000 Dunams have been burnt by these kites, flown by protesters in Gaza.
The Hamas movement said the only way for Israel to stop the kites is to completely lift the siege on the Gaza Strip.
It is worth mentioning that the Israeli army has killed 129 Palestinians, including thirteen children, since the beginning of the Great Return March, on Palestinian Land Day, March 30th, 2018.
The army also injured 13672 others, including hundreds who suffered serious wounds, mainly after being shot with the illegal expanding bullets.
Among the slain Palestinians are two medics, identified as Razan Najjar, 22, and Mousa Jaber Abu Hassanein, 36, while 223 medics were injured, and 37 ambulances were damaged by Israeli army fire.
The army also killed two journalists, identified as Yasser Mortaja, 31, and Ahmad Abu Hussein, 25, and wounded 144 others.
